These men are Jesus inner circle where He confides with them, trusts them, made leaders out of them and was intimate with them in His ministry.
1- They were the ones Jesus was with raising Jarius daughter
2- They were the earliest ones He chose to follow Him
3- They were the ones Jesus took with Him to the Transfiguration
4- They were the ones Jesus confide His deepest feelings with in Gethsemene
5- They are the only ones mentioned by name in the book of Acts
6- These men became the leaders in the church
7- James was the first martyr, Peter in the middle dies upside down on a cross and John was last to die on the island of Patmos
I shared this with our Saturday mens group- there are 4 of us who meet weekly at my house for 3 years. None of us have any plans to break up the group and to continue meeting weekly to encourage one another, share our deepest concerns in a safe group knowing we will be praying for one another. The guys enjoy Saturday mornings more than any other time during the week and we all feel the same way.
They wanted me to share this with our Thursday morning mens group that meets and the head elder that meets with us on Saturday wants me to discuss this with the Wednesday night mens discipleship group that meets at our church.
So my question is do you have an inner circle that you meet with ? If not why not ?
