Power. As men, we pale in comparison to the divine. However, there is one aspect of power that men often ignore. The power of choice.
Choices have consequences. The laws of "cause and effect" are clear from everything around us. For example, if you run a stop light at a busy intersection with your vehicle of choice......
Please DON'T ask WHY God allowed this happen......
(As a side note. My advice. Learn to pray for safety in this spinning world we live in. Prayer changes things)
The power of choice is in the hands of men. In fact, it mimic/aligns with aspects of God in our own lives. No other areas of our earthly lives mimic the "image of God" in us than the power of our choices.
This is a fact lost upon religious people and theologies. They prefer it that way. This allows them to pretend things can't be any different than what they are.....
The one monumental and life changing power that Adam had was the power of choice. That power brought about death but it also brought about life in God's power.
Such is witnessed in the life of Joshua (a type of Christ/Messiah)......
Deu 30:15 Behold, I have set before thee this day life and death, good and evil.
As student of Scripture. In my journey to know God, there is nothing that "fits together the narrative of our existence" more that the power of choice. I first witnessed at meaningful level among Calvinists. Whenever you see sinful men who are trying their best to keep others for believing in the freedom to choose..... rest assured. They are trying to hide themselves and masquerade their own choices as "God's choices". (Satan is a master of this). In such you can see the children of God and the children of the devil.
1Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
1Jn 3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
Such is manifest in the hatred of our brothers Abel.......
Mat 23:13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.
The power of choice is found in many places of our lives but I see none greater than the power of choice in being a proper father to your own children. Some children are physically your children but some children are made by the power of choice.
Joh 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Yet. There is still hope for you. You can receive the "Spirit of Adoption". You are the child of the father you listen to......
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Such was enabled by Christ....
Mar 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
The power of choice that Christ made as man by the will of the Father. Christ crying in spirit to the Father to unite the brothers split in the sin of Cain.
