Man plays a vital role in walking in the spirit. A believer has things they do to be able to live a victorious Christian life. This is a very unpopular view in the modern day church but its what Jesus and the Apostles taught and expected for every believer. @charismaticlady

conclusion: Be filled with the spirit

Ephesians 5:18 says to all Christians, "Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit." The verb "be filled" is famously a present tense verb which means to do it regularly, continually. Then it is an imperative verb, which means that it is a command and not a suggestion.

Its as simple as that obey the Lord and be continually filled with His Spirit.

Galatians 5:16- But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

Galatians 5:23-25 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Ephesians 4:30- And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Revelation 3:3-6
“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. 3Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. 4Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.

6Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Al of which leads to the conclusion the Christian has volitional and behavioral liberty and agency the non-believer does not possess.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:7-8

  • For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption,
  • but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Cultivating a lifestyle of walking in the Spirit is something we all must choose to do on purpose.

We must be intentional about turning away from the things of this world, and consecrate ourselves to the Lord and learn to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit. 2 Corinthians 7:1

Paul teaches us the we must sow, invest our time and effort into a life of walking and being led, by the Spirit.
Walking according to the Spirit doesn’t happen on accident, anymore than reaping a harvest of corn happens on accident.

It all begins by establishing one Spirit led habit at a time.

Prayer, fasting, repenting, renouncing sin, reading the word, studying the word, meditating on the word, spending more and more time in God’s Presence in prayer, private devotion…. are just a few of the habits we must learn to have.

IOW’s binge watching television and social media, you tube, associating with the wrong people , listening to the wrong music, and eating junk food and so forth are bad carnal habits that we must break by the Spirit.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. Romans 8:12-14

  • but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

And yet there are alot of Christians that believe a Christian would never have bad carnal habits.

The Corinthians did and Paul rebuked them. Not that they should be carnal..but it's possible to be a carnal Christian.

Our Heavenly Father desires for us, His children to grow up and become like His Son.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

To walk as He walked.

This takes time. He is with us.

He has sent His Spirit to teach us and lead us in this way of walking according to the Spirit.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26

This same John says it again this way in his first epistle -

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27

Peace and blessing upon you as you seek Him to walk before Him…
