Imitating Christ refers to the practice of imitating the life, teachings, and character of Jesus Christ as our example for Christian living. This concept is central to Christian discipleship, emphasizing the transformation of believers into the likeness of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
It's easy to let the self take center stage, even in our service of others, but must strive to keep Christ at the center. For only when we’re willing to endure suffering ourselves for the sake of others, so that Christ can take shape in our lives, are we truly imitating Him.
This is the essence of what it means to take up our cross and follow Jesus, to serve one another in love, and to be led by the Spirit.
Imitation is the solution. It is the only way forward.
