After being born again by the Holy Spirit, what different things can we now do?

The subject is the question of the thread.

Some like to hold to rules and traditions, and cultivate pride in their hearts, and this represents to them what Christianity is.

However, the scripture speaks of this as a new and "better" covenant, compared to the old.

Since Jesus taught that those who would be greatest among you would be slave of all, what greater service, what greater works are now possible?

Why greater? What service?

I was able to love people I felt incapable of loving because of their mistreatment.
Yes, we are transformed inwardly. This changes our lives, and also affords room in our hearts for God to change the lives of others.

In 1 John 3:4-10, those who do not practice righteousness in obedience to Mosaic Law are not born again. In Romans 8:4-14, those who are born of the Spirit are contrasted with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Mosaic Law. In Ezekiel 36:26-27, the Spirit has the role of leading us to obey the Mosaic Law.

Christ spent his ministry teaching his followers to obey the Mosaic Law by word and by example and being a Christian is about following what Christ taught. In the Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrews 8:10, the New and better covenant still involves following the Mosaic Law. So the delight of getting to live in obedience to the Mosaic Law is possible for those who are born again by the Spirit.

Idk. But I can openly and honestly tell people there is nothing good that dwells in me and anything good that comes from is from God and the Lord Jesus Christ. If spirit lead.

Okay so we have this all worked out? Sorry I had to delete a few posts. Next time please try to tone it down and not get too personal.

being saved is when His Souls are resurrected to our Original body made by God
and return to Paradise.

This was originally posted in a subforum that had a simple stipulation to not post about the old testament or the mosaic law. Having someone post about "obedience" when they cannot follow simple instructions was a bit much.

For the first 30 years of my life going to church every week I realize now that I was NOT born again of the Spirit. That tells me there are many in the church like I was - active sinners, and not even on the path to salvation. And in all those 30 years I never received an answer to prayer which made me question if there really was a God.

Then in 1977 I prayed for help to get out of a sin and I received the first answer to prayer, and my faith grew to believing there might be a God after all. I went to church on 2/9/77 and saw a vision of my sin, heard God's voice, (one word) and felt a heavy weight lift out of me. I know now it was the sin in my nature. Jesus took every bit of sin out of my nature, then spoke 8 sentences. Then He filled me with His Spirit. The Spirit will not dwell where there is sin unto death in our nature. We must be clean. It felt like warm oil pouring from a bucket and it completely covered me. The emotion I felt was pure joy.

Then the Spirit started planting the fruit of the Spirit, and in some ways it was like starting over. Sins from immature fruit are not sins unto death as in a sin nature; they are sins not unto death, and are merely human nature. 1 John 5:16-17. 2 Peter 1:5-7 is now the progress we go through for glorification and to be like Christ. Let the Lord prune you and purify yourself so you will never stumble again. 2 Peter 1:10-11

As far as what I received after being born again. I received seven of the nine gifts of the Spirit, visions, dreams, and the ability to see whether a sermon being preached is from the Lord or not. I've seen a pure white glow around my pastor, but I've also visited a church where the pastor had something like black smoke coming out of his head for about a foot.

After being born again by the Holy Spirit, what different things can we now do?

Grace in two ways, INNER and OUTER differences:
  1. INNER: I have peace that cannot compare to before. When trials and tribulations come around, I feel like I am insulated by a Spiritual blanket of its impact. I can take a lot more BS in stride.
  2. OUTER: When people give me a hard time, instead of me responding in kind, I response with grace and I am 100% confident this has not only lowered conflict it has positioned me to be everyone's friend, telling them I may not agree with them but exude a feeling of compassionate understanding.
I wish the evidence was more objective and everyone could feel what the spiritual and emotional changes that have taken place since I was born again by the Holy Spirit!!!

The Mosaic Law, the Ten Commandments was because of sin in our nature placed there by Satan since Adam sinned. When we repent, Jesus takes all desire to break those commandments out of our nature so we obey them naturally, not from the flesh of willpower. Now a second work happens in a born again Christian. The fruit of the Spirit are planted and for the rest of our lives we must grow those fruit to maturity. The Old Covenant had no such laws pertaining to changing our personalities. The Spirit now helps conform us to the likeness of Jesus. Sin has already been taken out of us. Move on to godliness.

The Mosaic Law is God's word, so repenting by embodying God's word is the way to put our faith in the one who is the embodiment of God's word. The Son is the exact image of God's nature (Hebrews 1:3), which he expressed through setting a sinless example for us to follow of how to walk in obedience to the Mosaic Law, so if all of the invisible aspects of God's nature/fruits of the Spirit that the Mosaic Law was given as a gift to teach us how to express were personified into a body that we can see, then that would be the Son. A chip off the old block is someone who has the same character or nature as their father, so that is the sense that Jesus is the Son of God insofar as he expressed aspects of His nature like holiness, righteousness, goodness, justice, mercy, faithfulness, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentles, self-control, and so forth in obedience to the Mosaic Law and that is the sense that we are born again as children of God when we are partaking in the divine nature through following his example, which is what it means to be born again. This is why 1 John 3:4-10 says that those who do not practice righteousness in obedience to the Mosaic Law are not born again and why Romans 8:4-7 contrasts those who walk in the Spirit with those who have minds set on the flesh who are enemies of God who refuse to submit to the Mosaic Law.

You just described someone who is born again of the Spirit with all the commandments of God written on their hearts to be kept naturally.

Soyeong, here is a question for you. Does what you wrote get rid of the sin in your nature? Is your nature clean?

We can "please God" (no small feat when one stops to consider who we are and who He is).

Probably the most important "thing the born again, can do now" that an unbeliever can never do, is :

1.) Have constant fellowship with God and Christ

2.) Discern the scriptures.

However, #2, is the tricky one, as if a born again believer, is captured by a Cult (demonic) theology, .... say, Calvinism, then they can never again, discern the scriptures, until they are free from this mind blindness.
Few make it back to the Light.

Hebrews 13:9 tells you what you have to do, to NOT be captured by such a Cult.....or you will be, ... captured and controlled.

For example if the Cult of Calvinism "bewitches" you.... = owns your mind, you'll be found doing NOTHING but trying to get everyone you meet involved with your master, John Calvin.
That's a fact.

Calvinist's dont even identify themselves as Christians. They are like Mormons or Catholics.. or JW's.

You can meet one of these deceive people on the Street, or on a Forum, and ask them.......

"Are you a Christian"..

They answer....."Yes, im a CALVINIST" "Yes im a Mormon"... "Yes, im a Catholic"... "Yes, im a JW"...= "Yes, im totally deceived"...

= ALL of This is just such immense spiritual captivity.... = total mind control.

A.) TOTAL

Being born again allows us to have a relationship with God because we now have the capacity to comprehend spiritual matters. God is Spirit. That relationship changes every aspect of our lives.
However we are also baptised in the Spirit which both enables and promises far more than simply being made spiritually alive but that wasn't the OP question. :)
